Thanks to a few emails tonight, Roy Bannon has been traced via email back to Rage Developments. (Where the rest of Denton Designs reside these days) Sources reveil that the game apparently may exist on a backup system, though confirmation is needed. Contact has been attempted with Roy, and its now being awaited for a reply with regard to Batman Returns. Possibility is that the Rage email address is now invalid, due to Rage being taken over by another company for a rumoured 1 pence. A start possibly to find out what happened to the game... so keep watching for now... hopefully it could be good news...

I try ... no point in doing the site if we don't try to find the games too .... Nothing back yet btw.... its early days, but no return to sender yet.. so the mail address is working.... Apparently, Roy is quite good at talking about his past work.. and originally was willing to pass over the sources. We'll wait and see...

This is one of the games I really wanted when it was being developed - it looked like it would be something different. Maybe if you give Roy enough coffee, he'll "spill the beans"
(hehe - a bad pun, and a reference to the Diary of a Game in Commodore Force wrapped into one!)

Well...sadly as originally guessed... the email is delayed by 24 hours, so therefore u know what will happen soon..... it'll become undeliverable.
Does anyone know what happened with Rage.. did their people go into that new company they were taken over by?

right.. .come on guys.... if you all want to find this one, we've first of all gotta find out what happened to the guys from Rage.... i.e.. ex Denton Designs peeps..
For a starter... does anyone know the whereabouts of *any* of the ex Denton people these days, or even mainly the ones who were at Rage (I.e.. Ally Nobel, and that main guy.. name escapes me)..

More news... Swordfish Developments took over Rage, but only their Birmingham offices...
Roy Bannon was at the Liverpool branch, so he does not work for the new taker over people...
This was from a reply to an email I sent to Swordfish, and a guy from there kindly replied and has given me a fresh working email for John Heap.... whom you all know as the main leader of Denton Designs....
He has also passed on my email.. and hopefully (Very hopefully), we will actually get hold of Roy very soon....

Ok... looks as if this sticky post will be a regular update thing Right... John Heap has replied and passed on Roy's working email address (He now works at Virtucraft)... As well as asking John about Mega Games (Imagine) and "Where Time Forgot", i've also emailed Roy with the big thing about "Batman Returns"... Right... sit tight and fingers crossed that he will talk a bit about the game...

Good news!... Roy Bannon has replied and has given the full story on what happened to Batman Returns. You will be able to see this in the update tonight or tomorrow. Bad news is that he hasn't been able to find the game... though bits may lurk around somewhere. I've been told to try John Heap and Ally Nobel for the game itself... Ally Nobel did the graphics with Roy on the game. Though its rumoured she may not be too keen on letting us have anything of Batman Returns. A big development though you'll have to agree....

Well... not quite .... John Heap isn't replying... either because he's busy, on holiday or not bothered. Sadly thats the way of things these days.... if we can find Ally Noble, we may get more luck. I will be trying Roy again soon and see if he knows of Ally's whereabouts, and may even do an interview if he has time.

I cannot understand why some ex-C64 programmers either a) do not bother replying to your email's b) seem a bit unlikely to part with any games or code c) throw out their development disks - to me that would be like EMI getting rid of the master tapes of The Beatles!! Oh well - rant over!
