Just a thought.
Mate of mine posted this on the Retro Fusion forum about the Saturn, seems like there could be a rich vein of GTW's for Sega platforms out there...

I'm not surprised .... If some of these communities could be convinced to start up a GTW mirror for their platform, then who knows what might be uncovered I'm hoping with the new portal, it will encourage more people to set up their own platform sites to start finding and documenting on these lost games.

I think the problem you will have with a Saturn GTW is that you can't offer anything for download. Even if you can track down a copy of an unreleased Saturn game ("Return Fire" for example, which surfaced not long ago), you'll run into two problems: 1. the Saturn can not play backups and mod chips are hard to find (good emulators are non-existing also), 2. everything was licensed to Sega and Sega is still around. You won't get the required permissions to offer any game, and a GTW website with some text and screenshots only will not attract many visitors.

As Frank says, it's not just about offering the games to download, it's about documenting them... It was just an idea when I read the list on another forum.

I know, I just tried to explain the possibilities why there's no Saturn GTW yet. Documenting them is of course a good idea, but most of them are already documented, albeit not on a single website.

Shit on a stick, I'd love to help with this; there's tons of mysteries to investigate in Saturndom: Why Sega Europe told us for months and months that they were releasing X-Men Vs. SF in PAL territories but it never surfaced English Shining Force 3 Scenario 2 and 3 The big 2 from AM2 - Shenmue and VF3 on Saturn Sonic The Fighters Sonic X-Treme Among others. Fuck, I love that console

I think purely homebrew GTW's for the Saturn would be the only option, unless Sega gave specific permissions (which of course they would ) Documentation would be good, and certainly running videos, images etc could be added to make the next best experience. I'm sure people who want to play the games would find means in doing so via "contacts" and the like..
