Coco programmer Ken Kalish, who did (the coco original version of) games such as Trapfall aka Cuthbert in the jungle, briefly mentions in this interview that he made a C64 game called Ancient Warriors but due to the market at the time never pursued getting it published. His email adress is in the interview so it might be easy to get some info on it.

That is fantastic KJN!.... thank you very much!... I will follow this lead tonight and see what comes up. I will let everyone know through this post how this develops. Btw..... I'm not sure if my negotiating skills are ever too great, and was considering someone to help out?.. (Vinny / Mat / Jason?).... I think its probably my wording and general English which lets me down... if anyone cares to check out roughly what I send, then please mail me

Typical. looks like a new email address has been made nowadays. Can't find it though.. so one to add and hope for Doing some newsgroupsearch I found a post by him from august 2000. Now his email adress is mcross@iname.com However iname.com is now mail.com so maybee it's mcross@mail.com now if he still uses it. Further searching revealed lots of posts by him in java groups with the email adress ken@javakk.com , kkal@javakk.com and kenk@javakk.com The latest posts seems to be about may 2002 and javakk.com now gives you a page not found error at earthlink so they might not work either. Still maybee you could try some just to be sure.
