First of all, greetings to all and especially for Frank, for your great job! I noticed there are some missing name here... Lions of the universe 1 and 2 Gods (a remake of the original Amiga game, only the intro) Godz (another Gods clone started by a group called Nomad Project, but never finished, I think) Where are them? Nice design site. Keep up the good work!

Lions of the Universe made it here, through EBES etc. The sequel didn't and I believe it's in the GTW archive already (could have sworn I saw it there).

Mayhem pretty much confirms the situation on two of the games... Both Lions 2 and Return Of The Lions are in the archive.... As for Gods... this will be added in a future update, though i'm going to have to dig out the bits on the game.... does anyone have the bits from Nomad's old site? I'm fairly sure that the Gods intro was done by Nomad too?... Thanks for the comments too

... no probs Mr Wolf... They are only previews however, though we hope to contact Cosmos Designs soon and ask more about their titles... at least confirm if the previews were all that were done. If you can find the Gods Intro, then that would be great... I have a feeling it is by Nomad... we have the SID file from HVSC, which is from the Nomad intro they did...

The intro-only preview is Nomad Projects' one, there's only been one Gods conversion attempt to date that i'm aware of.
Just had a thought, What about Stoat & Tim's Ad Infinitum then? The near complete game is doing the rounds in it's pre-edited state (before it became W.A.R) where it's possible to flip over and fly left - does that technically make it a G.T.W.?

I guess it depends TMR, if AD Infinitum was gonna be its own game. If its merely a early preview of W.A.R, then it wouldn't really count.
If its a completly different game, or version of W.A.R (Talking on the scale of Outrun Europe v1, R-Type v1 etc)... then yes, it would qualify...
What does everyone else think?

Hmm, Katakis is incredibly close to Denaris and it's classed as a GTW, Ad Infinitum is generally the same code as W.A.R but plays noticeably differently. It even has more aliens onscreen at some points. i'd say it counts because that's how the game was to look before legal worries changed it...?

You are right about Katakis... That was mainly there because the original game was banned for being too similiar to R-Type... then it was hashed and turned into Denarius...
If AD had the same treatment... for its closeness to Uridium.. then certainly, if this was how the game was intended... it should go in as a GTW for the fact that it's not its real intention.
Have you got the preview handy TMR?

Interesting... AD INFINITUM is also the name of a Shaun Southern game...

It wasn't banned due to the resemblance to Uridium as far as i know, but the story goes that someone in Martech's legal department got a lot jumpy about the similarities and some fairly extensive rewrites took place to make it look different. After all, Psycastria didn't get banned (even if it should have been! =-)
Got the preview sat here in my shoot-em-up collection - where d'you want it sent?
